I know alot of guys here are going to look at me like Im crazy for asking this but the fact is... Im real good shooting with open sights and more comfortable with it. The other reason is im not shooting 2000 yards with my gun. 400 yards max at most. So my question is, would it be possible to put a flip up rear iron sight on the BFG and a front sight, something like a Mauser has???

It's certainly possible, but not a priority for us unfortunately. I think the best way to do it would be to mount an off-the-shelf rear site assembly to the rail and then mount something custom to the muzzle brake. Maybe even a chopped-off AR-15 front sight forging that's cut to the right height and mounted to the brake. There's a bit of a danger with the whole idea, though...you have to make sure you have enough eye relief! I'd bet that "Picatinny rail eye" would be a lot worse than "scope eye"! Shocked

There are companies that make folding sights for the AR15 that will fit a picatinny rail. I doubt you'll find one that would get you out to 2000 yards though, 400 is doable as I did it the other weekend with a friends UM50.

Just search companies like Mounting Solutions Plus, GG&G, DPMS, Yankee Hill Machine, CMMG...

I've used an OK Target (OKO) red-dot reflex sight on my .50s for the last few years without any problems.

and Mark had an EOTech on a Carbine in the past:

Is the smaller version of the EOTech the only one that is short enough to fit on the rails? Or does the "AA" size one fit also? Question

EDG - Are there places near you where you can shoot a 50BMG? I'm in southeast FL and would buy a 50cal in a heartbeat if I knew of a place to use it. There aren't any ranges around here longer than 100 yds and I'm told they don't allow 50's.
