Except for the fact that it's a shell holder and it's got waaaaaay too many lugs, I like it. I just like unusual guns. Unfortunately here in the U.S. we have to worry about the armor piercing ammunition ban when we chamber a pistol in a rifle caliber.

The problem with chambering a pistol in a rifle caliber is that any legal rifle AP ammo is now considered pistol AP ammo, which is very restricted. It would basically prohibit the sale of any steel cored ammo that could be chambered in that pistol. So, all cheap .50BMG ball ammo would be gone.
The only out I see on that a .50BMG "pistol" is not a pistol per ATF regs. It is considered a Destructive Device since for "pistols" they measure the bore diameter, not the groove diameter like on rifles. The BMG is a .51" diameter. Other 500's like the .50AE and 500S&W have a .49" bore, with .50" grooves so that they aren't DDs. So, if a .50BMG "pistol" is a DD, is it still a pistol that would trigger pistol AP regs? |

Yes, I believe it still would....
The other examples I've seen of BMG 'pistols' have all been registered as SBR (short barreled rifle)
The Nuke50 video that Birdman did some years ago features his short barrel Maadi-Griffin as I recall. _________________ Early BFG-50 in .50DTC
