On 12/26/2011, a new machine gun was born. At this point it's just named Q2SMG2, and is basically a test-bed for some ideas that I'll be applying to future guns. It's .22 LR caliber, uses Ruger MK2 magazines and fires from an open bolt. In it's original configuration it fires about 1,400 rounds per minute, but with just a washer stuck in the back of the receiver it's upped to around 2,100. The slower rate test-fire can be seen in the movie TEST4, while the higher rate is in TEST5. It's been a LOOOOONG time since I made a new machine gun...nice to have a new addition to the family!
