Just passed the FAA check ride today! Passed the first time through. Somebody up there likes me. Took 50% longer and cost twice as much as I'd figured to get the license, but now I've got it. And nobody (except for the people who gave it to me) can ever take it away. |

I Had a Talk with the Big Man Uptairs Mark.I asked him to let you pass the test, then asked him to give you some help in getting the semi into production. He laughed and said two miracles in one day was alot to ask for! I tried.

Mark,
Congratulations! Becoming a pilot is quite an achievement! You're going to dig it!
Now, it's just one small step away from a checkride in a Pilatus PC-12, or similar, that would allow you to fly a semi to me out here in CA....or I'd even fly eastbound & meet you halfway...

Once the BFG-50A gets going, I'll probably head over in one of these:
http://www.viperjet.com/
I might be tempted to bring too many people in a PC-12.

A Viperjet? Come on man, gotta bring at least 1 friend and some GEAR (like a few BFG-50A's).
I suggest one of THESE instead....this is what I'm getting when I'm the King of Software.

Hey, I didn't know about the Javelin!! Looks awesome, but it doesn't seem to be in production yet. I assume it's somewhere around 2 weeks from being ready? Any word on price and availability? Damn, the company has at least a few jobs I'm qualified for. Maybe I'll just work there and get an employee discount on my plane. But I'm pretty sure I'm unemployable anymore. Reading the news it seems this thing's been in development for years and you still can't get it! What is it with these companies teasing us with products and not delivering!! You just showed me this to give me a taste of my own medicine, didn't you!?

Actually, I've been in touch with ATG, and they promised me that it REALLY IS only 2 WEEKS from certification. They also mentioned that for a small deposit, they'll send me a "universal fuselage section" which can be made into any model of jet that ATG used to produce, currently produces, or will produce in the future.
I'm thinking I can keep the fuselage section in my garage, next to my safe, in which resides.....oh, never mind.

Too funny. So from the news section on their website I gather that the Javelins are $3 million each? That's not really that bad; not much beyond what VLJs are going for. And especially when you consider that a used one of these is around $1.1 million these days...and they don't even fly!

Yeah but you gotta admit, the Enzo is as close to flying as you can get without a pilot's license!
$3M for the Javelin isn't bad, the only negative is even though it's fast, it has no legs; SF - Denver is stretching it. I only need 1 fuel stop to do coast-to-coast. The javelin would still be faster, even with 2 fuel stops...and probably a ton more fun!

Mark,
Why mess around with the fixed wing aircraft. You should be looking at a Cobra or Apache Chopper!!Imagine coming into work after spending the weekend in the Keys landing on your Pad in the parking lot.You could have your bodyguards standing on the skids with their semi 50's,or the new(in design) Mini 50.

Point. They both rip.
Man, a Veyron would be killer, but I don't think my 6'5" would fit in ANY of the supercars....

Did you notice that at speed your
tires last 15 minutes--a blowout at over 225mph could be less than good
fuel will last 12 minutes--where's the next gas station?

12 minutes of fuel? In that respect it isn't much different from an airplane .
