To all;
I'm new to this message board but I bought two receivers prior to the ban here in Kalifornia. Am I correct in assuming that the magazine fed bolt action is available at this time or am I dreaming? Any of you guys know? What's the premium for this bad boy?

Hey mark,
Any chance that us current BFG-50 owners can get a magazine well added to ours? (when it becomes available of course) _________________ Heavily medicated for your safety. |

I plan to register one of my CA universal receivers as this model!
Will it have it's own model designation or still just be the BFG-50
Also, just to be certain... the semi is now labeled as BFG-50s correct?
Thanks! //Ben

Ben,
I just sent in my registration form for my BFG receivers. I don't think you have to worry about model designations as it has only 3 spaces to fill in: brand, serial number, and caliber.
I went ahead and registered my receivers a couple weeks ago, and have already received the DOJ approval/acceptance letter in the mail.

Well, I'd designed a magazine-fed BFG-50 that looks a lot like a regular BFG, except with the magazine on the bottom. The mag well/trigger group looks a lot like a BIG AR-15 lower. Anyway, there were enough changes from a standard BFG-50 that it required a lot of new parts. Might as well just make a version of the semi-auto that doesn't have a gas system, and have that be the mag-fed. I'm trying to figure out a way to have such a beast cost $2,000 less than the semi-auto. I'm thinking of using rusty barrels and other substandard parts, but I don't think you guys will like that.
As far as the CA regsitration, as TCPilot said, they don't ask for the model number, apparently. But though the semi-auto is officially the BFG-50A, I consider the "A" to be a "sub" model designator. So "BFG-50" is close enough.

The 50 cal registration form requres:
Serial number, make, model, caliber, date of acquisition. |

Thanks all for the info...
I heard from Al B. too, and he said basically the same... just use the BFG-50 as the model....
The form asks for a right hand thumbprint too!
That'll be interesting for me, as I only have 1/2 a thumb on that hand to get a print from, and they wrote that the form could be rejected for an poorly done print... guess I'll have to send a pic along with the form!
My "short ride" hitchhiker's thumb as my co-workers call it...

Yep, I just found an unused form. ke6guj is correct; model number is specified. I put "BFG-50" under the model number for both my receivers.
Sorry about the misinformation,
